Staff Spotlight: Skye Donaldson
Miss Skye Donaldson | Senior School History Teacher | 27 March 2023
Introducing Miss Skye Donaldson, one of our fantastic Senior School History Teachers!
What makes St Luke's Grammar School special?
As a new staff member this year, I have found St Luke’s to be extremely warm and welcoming. It was immediately obvious that I was entering a school that values community and family, which is special.
What do you love about teaching?
I love teaching History to students as there is always something fascinating (or macabre!) to engage them. It’s also the sharing of human stories and experiences that bring a deeper empathetic understanding about people from different time periods and different cultural backgrounds that make History relevant for students today.
What can you be found doing when you’re not teaching?
When I’m not teaching, you will find me somewhere in nature. Whether it’s by the ocean relaxing and surfing, trekking high up in the mountains of Nepal or Patagonia, or out on the mountain bike trails, I love all things active and adventurous. You’ll also find me spending quality time with my family and friends.
Where would you go if you could travel (safely) anywhere in the world?
The Modern Historian in me is deeply intrigued by Russia’s long and complicated past and present, so I’m hoping one day to explore and experience Russia, Eastern Europe, and Siberia.
